Erick Sierra is a writer, professor, and midnight theologian whose work explores the intersections of faith, justice, memory, and culture. A professor of English at Trinity Christian College in Chicago, he also directs the campus Writing Center, where he mentors student writers and nurtures language as a tool for human dignity. His writing has been featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education and platforms ranging from Backyard Church to public lectures at universities like Pepperdine and Columbia.

Born in New York City and raised on grit, salsa music, and spiritual questions, Erick brings an urban sensibility to his intellectual and creative work. His essays often bridge theology and lived experience, blending scriptural imagination with cultural critique, personal storytelling, and literary analysis. His most recent work lives on Medium, where he writes regularly on themes like race, masculinity, doubt, embodiment, and the holy hiddenness of everyday life.

He lives in Willow Springs, Illinois, with his wife and children, and still finds joy in dancing New York–style salsa, training in martial arts, and cooking Puerto Rican food on weekends. You can catch a glimpse of his everyday rhythms in this Instagram video that captures a day in the life.
